Edwin Koo : witness photographer

About

I'm currently based in Kathmandu, Nepal, doing what most people would categorize as "photojournalism". I'm not so sure what this big word really means. What I do know is that I take pictures of the scenes I witness, and try to string it up into a visual narrative.

Prior to freelancing, I had the privilege of working in Singapore's only English national broadsheet, The Straits Times, and a now-defunct tabloid called Streats. Five years in press photography taught me a lot about "photojournalism" - what it is and what it's not. In July 2009, I left the mothership and came to the newborn republic of Nepal.

I am currently represented by ZUMA Press (USA) and contribute to various international and local publications. Unfortunately, I'm not a multi- award-winning photographer, and I haven't shot a cover from TIME yet, but I do hope you enjoy my images.
